About The Event

This event has been postponed - stay tuned for more

Castelnuovo-Tedesco was one of the pre-eminent Italian composers of the early twentieth century, whose music was championed by the greatest artists of the time, including Jascha Heifetz, Andrés Segovia and Arturo Toscanini.Because of the Racial Laws that prohibited Jewish composers from publishing their work or having their music performed in concert or on the radio, Castelnuovo-Tedesco left Italy in 1939 and made a life in the United States (taking U.S. citizenship in 1946), where he composed film music (like so many other European Jewish refugees) and taught composition to the next generation of film composers, including Henry Mancini and John Williams.
